As the owner of XENA ONLINE RESOURCES (http://www.xenite.org/xenaonln.htm), which indexes over 700 online resources (mostly Web sites) devoted to the show XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS, I affirm there is sufficient demand for this sort of resource as there are over 100 fan fiction Web sites and at least 2 fan fiction mailing lists. Fan fiction has been posted to alt.tv.xena, the primary news group devoted to this show. Another group, alt.binaries.multimedia.xena-herc, does exist which also welcomes fan fiction, but it is being used primarily for posting of binaries (sound and images) and some discussions considered on-topic under the group's charter. It was the majority consensus of people participating in the proposal discussion that this group is not intuitively enough named to attract the fan fiction people would like to see on the Usenet. I have promised to promote the new group through XENA ONLINE RESOURCES, which receives several thousand hits every month. I will also mention it in any FAQs I maintain and distribute where the information would be appropriate. I will send out a booster message in a couple of weeks, followed by another booster about a month afterward.
